Serre Chevalier · Hautes-Alpes
250 kilometres of pistes between larch forests and high mountains.
Serre Chevalier Vallée stretches over some 250 km of pistes, spread across four villages along the Guisane valley, from Briançon to Le Monêtier-les-Bains. It is the largest ski area in the Southern Alps.
What makes it special is the variety. Lower down you ski through larch forests, quiet and sheltered when the weather closes in. Higher up, the lifts open onto high-mountain terrain at 2,800 metres, with wide views over the Écrins National Park.
Four villages, four characters. Briançon, a fortified town listed by UNESCO, brings real town life to the valley. Chantemerle and Villeneuve hold most of the slope-side accommodation. Le Monêtier, the most preserved, is the connoisseurs' choice, with thermal baths and quieter slopes in high season. Travelling as a group? Our guide to planning a group ski trip explains how we organise it.
Serre Chevalier is made for a full week. The area is large enough for good skiers, the wooded sectors stay skiable in poor visibility, and families can stay at the foot of the slopes in Chantemerle or Villeneuve. We build all-inclusive weeks with accommodation, lift passes and equipment in one proposal.
Tell us your dates and your group: we put accommodation, Serre Chevalier lift passes, equipment and transfers into one proposal.
