Corporate ski retreat in the French Alps

A few days in the mountains does what a meeting room in town cannot: it takes a team out of its routine and gives it time together. We organise the whole retreat, from the meeting room to the last run.

Three formats that work

  • The team offsite: two or three nights, working sessions in the morning, skiing in the afternoon, one shared evening
  • The leadership retreat: a small group of eight to fifteen people, often in a private chalet, with more time for discussion
  • The incentive trip: a reward after a strong year, where skiing, comfort and one memorable evening come first

The format decides everything else: the length of the stay, the type of accommodation, how much skiing goes into the programme and the budget. It is the first thing we ask.

The meeting room comes first

Not every mountain hotel has a proper meeting room, and the ones that do are not equipped in the same way. Before we book anything, we check the real capacity in a working layout, daylight, the internet connection, the projection equipment, and whether coffee breaks can be served in the room. In many resorts this is what limits the choice, so we start there.

Which resort for a corporate retreat?

There is no single best resort. The right one depends on where your team is travelling from, the headcount, the budget, the skiing level and, above all, what the hotels can offer on your dates — starting with a proper meeting room. We work across the French Alps: Les 3 Vallées (Courchevel, Méribel, Val Thorens), Paradiski (Les Arcs, La Plagne), Chamonix, the Aravis villages, the Maurienne valley, as well as Tignes, Alpe d'Huez, Serre Chevalier and Orcières Merlette.

A big-name resort is not always the best fit for a retreat. A smaller, quieter resort often has more availability to keep the whole team under one roof, at a more reasonable budget. We suggest the options that match your brief, not a resort we have to sell. Our guide to choosing a French Alps ski resort for a group explains the criteria.

Activities for the whole team

The moments people remember are the ones the whole team shares, skiers and non-skiers alike. Snowshoeing with a mountain guide, a laser biathlon in teams, an igloo-building session, a dinner in a mountain restaurant reached by snowcat: one or two shared activities and one memorable evening are enough for a retreat of two or three days.

Getting your team there

Teams travelling from London, Brussels, Amsterdam or Zurich usually fly into Geneva or Lyon, then continue by private coach. We time the transfers to your flights, so the team travels together from the airport to the hotel door. Within France, the train to the valley followed by a coach transfer works well.

Budget, line by line

  • Accommodation and meals, the largest item
  • The meeting room and its equipment
  • Lift passes at group rates
  • Ski hire and, if needed, lessons
  • Flights or train, and coach transfers
  • Team activities and the evening event

We price each item separately in the proposal, so you can decide where to spend and where to save.
